Thank you for choosing Stephaney Kemper, CMFG, House Call Pet Grooming to cater to your pet’s grooming needs! Grooming your pet is a responsibility that I take very seriously and in order for you, your pet and your groomer to have a positive relationship, the following policies have been laid out.
My philosophy is that your pet’s safety and comfort are my first priority at all times. Stephaney Kemper, CMFG, House Call Grooming will not perform any grooming procedure that causes pain or an excessive level of stress to the pet. If your pet cannot tolerate a particular part of the grooming process, alternative solutions will be discussed, or it will be skipped entirely, in order to make the grooming visit as pleasant as possible.
Once grooming services are complete, the pet owner may look over the finished groom and allow me to correct any issues, where possible, before leaving the appointment. If you have concerns about your pet’s grooming experience, please notify me within 24 hours of the appointment.
HEALTH & VACCINATIONS
In order to best care for the pet, I require that the pet owner advise me of any health or behavioral issues, allergies, sensitivities, or pre-existing conditions prior to grooming. Being aware of such issues will enable me to take extra care during the grooming process so as not to aggravate an existing problem or ruin the grooming experience.
Clients are required to disclose if their pet has ever required a sedative or “calming pill” for grooming and agree to withhold these medications for at least the first grooming.
Current proof of third party administered rabies shots must be provided before the scheduled grooming. Rabies shots must be given more than ten days before the grooming appointment.
AGGRESSION & DAMAGES
Stephaney Kemper, CFMG, House Call Pet Grooming does not muzzle or fight with aggressive pets. I am willing to work with special needs pets who may need extra patience to grow trust, but reserve the right to stop services if risk of injury is too high for the pet or groomer. The pet owner will be held liable for any injuries inflicted on the groomer by their pet that require medical treatment, and for any property damage caused by the pet.
For the comfort and safety of your pet, I do not de-mat neglected coats. Tangles that cannot be easily brushed out in a few minutes will require removal by way of clippers, and a $25 – $50 mat removal fee may apply in severe cases. The coat will be taken shorter to remove the mats comfortably, and a maintenance schedule will be recommended to keep the pet in the desired style and in good condition.
It is important to remember that a matted coat can cause or hide numerous health conditions including irritation, sores, and skin infections. Removing a heavily matted coat includes risks of nicks, cuts, or abrasions due to warts, moles, and skin folds trapped and hidden in the mats. Heavy matting can also trap moisture near the pet’s skin allowing bacteria to grow causing skin irritations that exist prior to the grooming process. Stephaney Kemper, CFMG, House Call Pet Grooming is not responsible for any irritation or exacerbation of pre-existing conditions due to a matted coat or the mat removal process.
Stephaney Kemper, CFMG, House Call Pet Grooming often takes photos and videos of happy clients, especially before and after photos. Photos and videos are often used on social media, as well as on the home website, or for marketing purposes. Permission will always be asked before taking photos and sharing them. By agreeing to this clause you release any ownership of said photos of your pet, and agree to allow Stephaney Kemper full usage.
The set appointment is time reserved exclusively for your pet(s). I require notice at least 24 hours prior to the scheduled time should plans change and the appointment need to be canceled or rescheduled. Giving advance notice gives me the opportunity to fill your time slot and rearrange my schedule to best serve my clients. A $20 last minute cancellation fee will apply to repeat offenders, who may also face termination of services.
